Spring Cleaning

I rediscovered a post I authored on ‘spring cleaning’ in March 2021 and find it worthy of sharing again here:

a corner of my home

Spring cleaning for the Mind, Body, Home.

First, begin with the Home.

Find an aspect of your home that may have gone untouched for some time. Become mindful of the spaces you are cleaning and clearing up. This external process of becoming aware of our physical space gives us the strength to turn toward the aspect of our lives that we would prefer to avoid.

Now, take the spring cleaning within.

Like the sunshine disinfecting a musty room, the light of awareness purifies those parts of our mental and emotional lives that have been left in the dark to fester.

Maybe the nightstand you were cleaning up and tidying reminded you of the nighttime routine you have been wanting to make a lifestyle practice. Now that the space is cleaned and conscious, what is holding you back from showing up for your nightly routine?

To engage in the ritual of spring cleaning is to remember that it is not just about tidying up our physical spaces but also loose corners of our minds and rusty parts of our bodies. By approaching this process with mindfulness and intentionality, we can create a harmonious environment that supports our well-being on every level.

As we clear away the clutter, both external and internal, we make space for growth, renewal, and a deeper connection to ourselves. Embrace this season of transformation with open hearts and minds, knowing that the act of cleaning is not just a chore but a powerful act of renewal. 🌷
